Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
