Baroque Works is set to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bentham. The role can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that figure reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action series, as in the original manga and anime.

Escola is joined by a number of recently announced actors who will portray the organization to reality, featuring head the main antagonist, played by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.

Even though Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Given the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a major departure in the placement of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the plot development.

The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
