'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he remembers the thrilling closing stages of Swansea's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a spectator's eyewear after the on-field celebration.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful strike from distance, and his teammate promptly hammered in the rebound before sprinting toward the home end to mark the goal, with supporters mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The result capped an incredible turnaround given the team had been behind 2-0 midway through the second half. During the delirium, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The result booked a next round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a team Galbraith came close against at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had arguably the best view when the underdogs took the lead in spectacular fashion, with Jamie Donley's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for taking the effort on from that far out," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right defensive wing after the team changed formation. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the Manchester squad who complimented the way the underdogs played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the basics and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they always find their target and they know how to manage and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just thread a ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It requires a tough attitude and focus just to remain competitive."

New Chapter

The club pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in Wales. At his previous team he joined forces once more with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in first-team action on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a temporary move at League Two Salford City, before he permanently left his boyhood club.

Learning Curve

"I was perhaps a bit naive going into men's football. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is completely distinct. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without much intensity. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that growth for both domestically and internationally, performing well for his national side, who could still reach the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including home and away encounters against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his eye for a game-changing assist.

Humble Beginnings

It has been an incredible journey for the player from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside the capital, who used to see his father, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

Galbraith's only game for United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they featured on an plastic turf and the arena covering was closed owing to temperatures of freezing cold. "It was a long trip and it was cold out there," he recalls, grinning. "The preceding week, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that aided our adjustment. Just to join the main group and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "It was quite easy, because I reached the point where I realized I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the experience gained but it got to the point where I thought I required a fresh start, drop down the leagues and play men's football. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

It is the middle of the day at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a regular in Swansea's so-called player transport, a small coach driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which ferries players to and from practice and games.

"It's myself the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to spend time with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the following person out of the minibus and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's always up to all sorts."

Fan Interactions

When he represented Leyton Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on public transport after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
