Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a significant and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
