Loyal fans of the pop star are demanding that a man who breached a barricade and touched the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared clip shows the Australian man pushing past camera operators and charging at Grande while the cast walked down a promenade flanked by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being detained", though legal records revealed that he was due to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was charged.

Record of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account features videos of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last year.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a punishable act," stated an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Followers Voice Worry Over Ariana's Well-being

Several followers accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more message on Instagram.

Several fans also questioned guards at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while others called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In footage circulating online, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Hundreds of Singapore fans had lined up to greet the cast of Wicked

Many of attendees had gathered in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore venue, including some who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be premiered on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-film adaptation of the well-known stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two distinct witches.

The show itself is a derivative of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of last year in the UK, and scored a dozen Oscar nominations, earning several for best costume and production design.
