Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it fails to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The single was laid down following a solidarity show held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists appearing on Lullaby features a selection of well-known figures from the industry. All were part of the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a group of producers and composers. The song showcases a mix of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was noted for its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is first of all making this cause better known and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
